The story so far

I never wanted to pick just one thing to be good at.

My name is Kesnel Samuel Jean Philippe. I'm curious about technology, business, investing, people, and life far beyond a career. I like building things, understanding how things work, and seeing where curiosity can take me.

A born and raised Haitian kid, now building a life in New York.

Curiosity has always been a big part of who I am. Technology, data, business, investing, design — if something catches my attention, chances are I'll spend way too much time trying to understand how it works.

I enjoy building things and bringing ideas to life. Some turn into real projects, others become lessons, and a few never make it past my laptop. That's part of the fun.

I love being active, discovering new places, running, playing sports, being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with good people. I'm usually down for a new experience, especially if there's a good story to tell afterward.

Faith is an important part of my life. It shapes how I see the world, how I treat people, and the person I'm continuously trying to become.

I'm ambitious. I'm curious. And I'm still learning.

There are things I want to accomplish, places I want to see, businesses I want to build, and plenty I haven't figured out yet.

And I'm perfectly fine with that.

Where you come from may shape your story, but it doesn’t have to decide how far you can go.

What I stand on

Faith at the center, purpose in the journey, and the belief that we were made for more than simply getting by.

The journey, briefly

A few markers along the way

Showed up

Born and raised in Haiti. No code written, no businesses started, no spreadsheets analyzed yet. Give me a few years.

The cyber café years

Spent a lot of my childhood behind computers at cyber cafés, teaching myself how the internet worked and slowly finding my way into coding.

There was also a lot of GTA involved. Probably more than I'd like to admit.

Graduated high school with a lot of ambition

At 18, I finished high school with big ambitions and absolutely no perfect roadmap for what came next.
I knew I wanted to do something meaningful. I just hadn't figured out what that something was yet.

Tried accounting. Found computer science. Chose my own path

Went straight to university in Haiti after high school Started studying Accounting, switched to Computer Science, then left to keep learning and building on my own.

Things started getting real

Through my brother, I got the opportunity to connect with Dagmar, a marketing and advertising agency in Pétion-Ville, Haiti, and landed my first real website project in 2019.

One project became more.

working with more agencies, companies, and clients while turning years of self-learning into real-world experience.

Added data to the toolbox — This one changed a lot for me

Selected for the Ayiti Analytics Data Analytics Bootcamp in 2021, where I added data analysis to my skill set and discovered a new way to turn curiosity into insights.

My first corporate job

After years of freelancing and consulting, I stepped into the corporate world and joined FONKOZE as a Marketing, Research & Development Data Analyst, working with the R&D team on research, surveys, reporting, and turning data into useful insights.

Started over in America

I left Haiti and moved to the United States — a new country, new environment, new opportunities, and new challenges. It was one of the biggest changes of my life and the beginning of an entirely new chapter.

Still working. Still learning

I currently work at Conduent as a Data Processing Analyst while continuing to build, learn, experiment, and think about what's next. If anything, my interests have only continued to grow.

Back where some of the curiosity started

Now, I’m looking toward what’s next — exploring FinTech, investing, and building businesses while seeing where the journey takes me.

Curious where I'm headed next?

Come see the work.

Web development, research and investing — all documented, all in one place.
